Company is the section about MINDSPARKPRESS LTD itself, rather than about one of our books. It holds the posts that explain how a small independent publisher works. How do we choose a subject? How does a manuscript become a book? And how does the book reach readers around the world through print on demand and Kindle? The first post here is our guide to self-publishing. It walks through the whole journey, from the idea to the listing on Amazon. It covers writing, editing, the cover, the metadata and the launch. We wrote it because the same questions came up again and again. The answers are the same for a first-time author and for a publisher like us. As a result, it is the longest post on the site. It is also the one we send to people who ask how we do it. Over time, this category will also carry the company news. A new author, a new series, a change in the shops that carry the books: that kind of note lives here. So the book posts stay about the books. If you want the catalogue instead, the Books section lists every title by subject. The Authors section lists the same titles by hand. In short, Company is the room behind the shop. It is small, and it will stay small. Most of what we do shows up in the books rather than in announcements. Still, when something changes in the way we publish, this is where you will read it first.
