MindSparkPress Ltd is an independent publisher based in Haslemere, in the south of England. We publish practical non-fiction: books that answer one clear question and then give the reader something to do with the answer. Our authors write for us, and their books are on Amazon, in paperback and on Kindle. This page explains who we are and how we work.
An independent publisher and its authors
Each author owns one subject and writes only about that. Jeremy Payton brings ancient scriptures into modern English: the Apocrypha, the Books of Enoch, the Gnostic Gospels, the Book of Giants and Revelation. Megan Rush writes cookbooks for people whose diet has been set by a medical condition, such as life after bariatric surgery, diabetes or diverticulitis, often with an air fryer. Lily Mindwell writes self-help workbooks about childhood wounds, attachment styles and relationships. Benjamin Greenfield writes about vegetable gardening for beginners, with a garden that produces all year round.
Each of them also has a website and a blog. That is where the articles live, because a blog can go deeper than a book and can answer the questions that readers send in. Here on this site you find the catalogue and the news from all four.
How we choose what to publish
We do not chase trends. Instead, we look for a subject that people search for and rarely find explained in plain words. Then we ask a simple question: can a book help them within a week, not a year? A cookbook must respect the rules a doctor has given and still taste like food you would choose. A workbook must have exercises, not only theory. A text from the second century must read clearly today without losing what it says. If a book cannot pass that test, we do not publish it.
Being an independent publisher makes this possible. We have no catalogue to fill and no season to meet, so every title comes out when it is ready. After publication we keep the books alive: we read the reviews, fix what readers point out and update the editions.
